Hi, ladies!!! Today I have some books to recommend. I am a bookworm, and I will read almost anything I can get my hands on. Some of these books are a bit bloody and have some sinful ideas, but they are really good reading.
“A Life of Faith” series by Martha Finnley
These books are about different girls who grow up to be very spiritual and dependent on the Lord. One grows up to be a missionary, and another starts a mission.
“A Single Shard” by Linda Sue Park
This book is about a young Asian boy who is apprenticed to a potter. He takes a pot to show a person of authority and ends up making pots of his own.
“Calico Captive” by Elizabeth George Speare
This book is about a girl who is captured with her family by Indians in the French and Indian War. She ends up in Montreal, Canada. She ends up as a dressmaker and receives a marriage proposal from a French man.
“Ballet Shoes” by Noel Streatfeild
This book is about three sisters who train at a dancing school and end up with different careers. There are three in the series, each about a different group of children.
“Understood Betsy” by Dorothy Canfield Fisher
This book is about a little girl who goes to live in the country with some “queer” cousins. She learns what it is like on a farm.
I hope you will enjoy these books! I loved them, and have some of them on my own bookshelf at home. Have a wonderful day!
