Hey, ladies! So sorry I haven’t posted in a while, but I have had a super busy summer.
So, I wanted to post a little series on the Fruit of the Spirit. Basically, I am going to post the definition from the dictionary, say why it’s important, and then list a verse that mentions it, and a few ways to show it. I will say that many of the Fruits go hand in hand.
The first Fruit is love.
Definition: A feeling of warm personal attachment or deep affection, as for a parent, child, or friend.
Love is one of the most important things a human needs. Not being loved is one of the biggest fears of the human race. Love fuels us and keeps us going. Just think. If no one gave you a hug, smile, or a word of encouragement for the whole week, how would you feel? I know that I would be pretty depressed. As 1 Corinthians 13:1-3 says, we are nothing without love.
1 Corinthians 13:1-3:
If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3 If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing.
So, here are a few ways that we can show love:
- Clear the table and do the dishes for your mom.
- Visit a friend who is sick
- Read a bedtime story to your little brother or sister
Have a great day!
