The Fruit of the Spirit – Peace

Hey ladies! Today, we will be discussing peace. Let’s get started!

Definition: freedom of the mind from annoyance, distraction, anxiety, an obsession, etc.; tranquillity; serenity

Peace is important because 1) it keeps countries from being at war all the time, 2) it gives us a rest from worries, anxieties, and distractions, and 3) it helps us hear the Lord better when he speaks to us. Now, I know that God often speaks to us very randomly. He usually speaks to me by this one Bible verse that really fires me up because it relates to something I’ve been struggling with, or a song in church. Of course, messages from God are not limited to that. Here is a verse about peace:

And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.Philippians 4:7 (ESV)

I love those moments when I am completely at peace, either from crying really hard, or just the peace that comes from reading a comforting verse when I am afraid. Now, it can be hard to show peace, but here are some ways you can do it:

  1. You can be a peacemaker when you and someone else disagree (I know this is really hard because I have lots of siblings, but it’s worth a try!).
  2. You can try not to get super annoyed or angry when someone mistreats or annoys you (again, I struggle with this!).

Have a great day!
