Works of Art

Did you know that you are a work of art? Well, you are. You are a work of art created by the Greatest Painter.

Have you guessed who the Greatest Painter is?

That’s right, it’s God.

You are unique in every way, and God made it that way. Wouldn’t it be boring if everyone was the same? I think it would be.

One thing that I tell myself all the time when I look in the mirror on a bad day and put myself down by telling myself that I’m ugly is that I’m the way God wants me to be. I am exactly the way he wants me to be, from the tips of my toes down to the last strand of hair. And it helps, and then I pray.

So if you’re having a bad day, just tell yourself that you are a work of art. And pray.

Have a great week,

10 Ways to Brighten Someone’s Day

brighten someone's day

Hello, ladies! Today I thought I would post a list of 10 ways to brighten up someone’s day. Though you may not know it, someone you love might be struggling with something, and might need a little cheering up. And even if they don’t, the world can always you a little more sunshine, right?

1. Help an elderly neighbor around the house or yard.

2. If it is allowed, set up a stand with FREE lemonade and cookies.

3. Open the door for someone.

4. Volunteer at your local food bank, library, or some other place.

5. Take your siblings to the park, or babysit for free.

6. Help a friend with their chores.

7. Surprise your parents with breakfast in bed.

8. Read to a younger sibling.

My sister has Dyslexia, so I do this a lot, and she always loves it! I also have a little friend who is five years old, and she loves this so much as well! It’s funny how such a little things can make them so happy!

9. Smile at as many people as you can.

10.  Make gift baskets for a nursing home.

Better yet, make the baskets and deliver them personally to the residents.

I hope you liked this list of ways to brighten someone’s day!

Walking on God’s Path – 3 Magazines for God’s Daughters

magazines for god's daughters.jpg

Even harder than finding good books, and maybe even harder then finding good movies and music, is finding good magazines.

I love to get a magazine in my mail box each month. Do you? I’m going to share with you 3 good magazines for God’s Daughters.

Nature Friend

I love this magazine! It has so much in it. It has games, a drawing lesson, and so much more! They have a reader’s issue every year, and for a little more money each month, I think about two dollars, you can add a study guide, with gardening tips, recipes, and writing lessons! They also hide little pictures such as a squirrel and an acorn in each issue, and you have to try to find them.

Nature Friend Magazine

Adventures in Odyssey – Clubhouse

This is a Christian magazine for boys and girls, and it is really fun. It has fun stories, and lots of other things. It also has games and sometimes recipes. There is a version for younger children, too.

Clubhouse Magazine

The King’s Princess

I actually just discovered this magazine, thanks to Madison, but it looks awesome and I signed up for it! It is an E-magazine. It is also free!

The King’s Princess Magazine

Do any of you know of any other magazines?

Have an amazing week!

Beauty

True Beauty

true beauty

What do you consider to be the definition of true beauty? For me, it is not the outside that matters.

To me, (and God,) what matters is the inside.

There might be a girl at your school who is remarkably beautiful. She is the popular girl because she doesn’t ever have a breakout of acne, she is the popular girl because she can apply make-up beautifully, even though she doesn’t need it, and she is the popular girl because she always wears the latest fashions.

But she is not a kind girl. She bullies people that she doesn’t think are pretty enough, she bullies people with disabilities, and she hurts animals. She also does not listen to the teachers and her parents.

Even if she is beautiful and popular, she does not have true beauty. You could have all the beauty in the world, but if you had a cold heart, none of it would matter.

Then there might be another girl at your school. She is quite homely, and is not very popular, but she had true beauty.

She is kind to everyone she meets. She stops to talk to the girl who needs help with her math, and maybe even offers to help that girl with her math. She brings home animals she finds on the street, and helps them in any way she can. She is obedient, or at least she tries to be.

Which of these would you like to meet? The popular girl? Or the girl with true beauty?

I hope you are all having a great week and spring break!

Courage, Faith

He is With You

he is with you

I think we have all had a time where we feel lost. Hopeless. Afraid.

I can remember a time where I was more afraid than I had ever been in my whole life.

You see, I am afraid of heights. No, not the heights. I am afraid of falling from them.

My family and I went to Mesa Verde national park in Colorado. We signed up for a tour with a park ranger.

But to do the tour, we would have to climb up two ladders and crawl through an eight foot long tunnel.

The tunnel was no biggie. That was quite fun.

The fifteen foot ladder was no big deal either. I just didn’t look down.

But the THIRTY FOOT ladder? Followed by a steep and narrow path that was slippery and had only a piece of railing to prevent you from falling off?

I was terrified. About halfway up, I felt I just couldn’t make it. I stopped and looked down. And then I prayed.

Suddenly, all my fears vanished and I was able to make it the rest off the way.

When you feel afraid, sad, lost, or anything like that, just pray. And remember that God is ALWAYS with you.

Wherever you go, whatever you do, God is always watching over you, protecting you, loving you.

No matter what, He is always there.

God loved the world so much that he gave his only son for us.

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

John 3:16

I hope you are all having a lovely week, and that everything is going well for you.

Friendship

Apologizing

apologizing

Apologizing.

That thing can be the hardest thing to do. EVER. Trust me, I know.

About five months ago, I got into a huge misunderstanding with my BFF.

I won’t go into details, but basically, for two months, I could not swallow my pride to apologize.

Me and my best friend avoided each other for TWO whole MONTHS. We were both miserable. Finally, one day, I swallowed my pride. I went up to her, and said, “I’m sorry.” Those two words fixed everything.

Sometimes it is so hard to swallow our pride and apologize. So here are a couple of tips to help you if you ever just can’t apologize.

Don’t wait. If you are waiting because you think it will be easier to apologize, it won’t. It will just get harder.

Pray. Pray to God to give you strength to apologize.

I know this was a very short post, but I have been super busy this past couple of weeks.

I hope you are all having a wonderful week, and that everything is going well for you.

Walking on God’s Path: 6 Books for God’s Daughters

6-books-for-gods-daughters

Hullo, Ladies! Today I have a list of books for God’s Daughters.

Nowadays, I find it so hard to find books that contain no inappropriate content, books that don’t misuse God’s name, and so on.

When I see the new books nowadays, I don’t usually get past the summary or first couple of pages. If you will pardon me saying, there is so much trash floating around the world. And sometimes I find it hard to stay on God’s path, because I am tempted to read books that I know I should not. (I’ve read every good book I can get my hands on.)

This world is so full of things that distract us from walking God’s path.

But, we can start by reading good books. So, here, without further ado, 6 Books for God’s Daughters.

The Redwall Series

By Brian Jacques

Mr. Jacques passed away in 2011, so, unfortunately, there are only 21 or 22 books, instead of one more. There is a bit of violence, but it takes place in war times. There are also many character deaths.

The Mistmantle Chronicles

By M.I McAllister

There are five Mistmantle books. There is also a bit of violence, and two or three character deaths. DON’T GET ATTACHED TO A CERTAIN SOMEONE.

God’s Smuggler

By Brother Andrew

I was reluctant to read this book at first, don’t ask why, but when I started, I could not put it down!

The Chronicles of Narnia

By C.S Lewis

I am actually reading the series right now, and it’s awesome!

The Melendy Quarter

By Elizabeth Enright

It may also be referred to as the Four Story Mistake series. The books are called: (In order)

The Saturdays, The Four-Story Mistake, Then There Were Five, and Spider Web For Two.

The Mary Poppins series

By P. L Travers

An extraordinary Nanny, four young children, named Banks, what else could you want?!

Did you like this post? Would you like a list of MORE books for God’s Daughters?

Then add three or four pony beads .

Tie a knot right above the pony beads.

Tie a knot about five inches away from the very end of the other side.

Add three or four more pony beads.
