Courage, Faith, Witnessing

Equipped or Inadequate

equipped

Do you feel that you aren’t equipped to share the love of Jesus with friends? Or that you aren’t spiritually ready to give them advice? I’m going to give you some tips on how to feel more confident in your faith.

John 16:30 says, “These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.” He will be with you, through your trials, your tribulations, your ups, your downs.

You may not feel you are ready to talk to people about their situations. Don’t feel that you have to! You don’t have to be that “go-to” person. You could simply say, “I think someone else could help you on this one,” or “I really don’t know, maybe ask someone else?”.

I would recommend finding someone older and maturer than yourself, to talk about your issues and get advice from them. Call it a mentor!

Maybe this isn’t your calling. Wait on Him, and He will give you His plan in His timing!

I recommend spending more and more time in God’s word. The Bible is HIS word, so by reading them, you will get advice from the one who is!

Here is a website that is full of good advice and material: http://deeperchristian.com/. They have a great book called “The Five Pillars of Christian Growth”. I read this recently and it has really been an encouragement to me.

Start with Jesus, and he will open your eyes to a whole new world of spiritual discovery.

I know I’m not an expert either; I fail, I fall down, I stumble, but I’m relying on His strength to give me advice, to pick me up, and to be there for me when I fall.

Hope this encourages you today, and remember… He is always there for you, no matter what you’re going through.

2 Ways to Share the Gospel

2-ways-to-share-the-gospel

Hi ladies! Today, I am going to share two ways that Christians can share the Gospel with others.

  1. Live in a Godly way – When non-believers see your example, and the joy that comes with it, they will wonder why you can be so happy and good even in a hard situation. This gives you a chance to tell them about Christ.
  2. Identify Christian morals and symbolism in movies/books – The youth pastor at our church suggested this. In a movie (I will use The Lion King as an example), you can say something such as, “This character really reminds me of Christ/God”. Mufasa is a good symbol of God.

Now, I know it can be really hard to share the Gospel, especially for me. It makes me really uncomfortable to just walk up to someone and tell them about Christ. It takes practice. Just remember that God is with you, and is really pleased that you are witnessing for Him.

Have a great day!
